With more than 1000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the United States alone, people all across the nation are doing everything they can to ensure that they don’t contract this virus. For starters, yesterday it was announced that Coachella and Stagecoach have both been postponed until October 2020. Meanwhile, Miami’s Ultra festival, Austin’s South by Southwest, and Miami’s Winter Music Conference were all cancelled. NOTE: SXSW will not be giving refunds.

In addition to the music festivals being pushed back or cancelled, daytime TV announced NO MORE AUDIENCE ATTENDANCE. All TV shows with live audiences will be taping without an live audience. Shows like Wendy Williams and Live With Kelly and Ryan had filled their seats with staff. Even game shows at Sony have decided no audience to protect staff and talent. Both “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune” producer Sony Pictures Television similarly opted to stop taping in front of a live audience until further notice.

A spokesperson for the Wendy Williams Show said in a statement to TheWrap:

Wendy values her co-hosts and their daily participation but in light of the current health climate, The Wendy Williams Show will not have a live studio audience until further notice. We will continue to produce a daily live talk show and look forward to welcoming the studio audience back when the time is right.

Next, Hospitals like Kentfield and others in the North bay area have locked down. No visitors allowed at hospitals to protect patients from the spread of COVID-19.

Colleges around California and New York have also been locked down and the rest of the semester will have students attend classes via computer links as teachers will teach via the internet.

When it comes to celebrities, well Naomi Campbell continues her germaphobic ways while traveling, but she’s upped the anti a bit with a full hazmat suit. Naomi makes it clear “Safety First.” And we don’t blame her at all, you go Naomi.

Howie Mandel, another known germaphobe is in full hazmat as well on the way to work.
