CelebNHealth247.com has just received word that Erin Moran who played Joanie Cunningham that ran for 10 years on ABC from January 15, 1974, to September 24, 1984, has died.
Erin Moran was 56-years-old.
According to sources, Harrison County dispatch received a call for an unresponsive female shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday. First respondents determined that Moran was deceased. A cause of death has not been determined at this time, according to CBS News.

“Such sad sad news. RIP Erin. I’ll always choose to remember you on our show making scenes better, getting laughs and lighting up tv screens.”
An autopsy on Moran is pending.

Moran began her career as a child actress, starring in commercials starting at age five. She appeared in films such as 1968’s How Sweet It Is! with Debbie Reynolds and Melvin Van Peebles’ Watermelon Man in 1970 alongside TV shows Daktari, the Don Rickles Show, My Three Sons and the Courtship of Eddie’s Father.
It was in 1974 when Erin Moran became a household name as Ron Howard‘s little sister on Happy Days. She continued her role as Joanie Cunningham when the series introduced her love interest Charles “Chachi” Arcola (Scott Baio), Arthur Fonzarelli’s (Henry Winkler) little cousin. The two landed their Happy Days spin-off, Joanie Loves Chachi in 1982. The on and off-screen couple starred on the show for two years, before ABC cancelled it due to low ratings. Erin returned to Happy Days in 1983 for its final season.
Erin will always be immortalized as Joanie Cunningham.
