Eddie Money’s Cause of Death Revealed:

The music world by surprise after only recently announcing his esophageal cancer diagnosis, but sadly, it wasn’t cancer that ended his life.

A representative from Money’s camp confirmed to People that the cause of death was from complications from his recent heart valve replacement surgery. His heart surgery was unrelated to his cancer diagnosis. He contracted pneumonia shortly after heart valve surgery. When Money contracted pneumonia, this put a hold on his cancer treatment for about three months. Though, his cancer did not worsen, it was the pneumonia that got him following his heart valve replacement surgery.

Money is survived by his wife Laurie and five children, daughter Jesse Money, and sons Zachary, Joseph, Desmond and Julian.
